Maes embraces the future with EasyLabel electronic shelf labels

Three generations of craftsmanship meet a new era of technology.

A third-generation family business knows what really matters: moving forward without losing its essence.

That's exactly what Maes, a leading specialist in tools and hardware, is doing. With EasyRack by their side and plenty of ambition, Christof and Jeroen Maes are getting their stores ready for the future with EasyLabel's electronic shelf labels. van EasyLabel.

“Our customers should get what they need, right when they need it,” says Christof Maes. “Speed and service are part of who we are. That’s why we’re gradually switching from printed stickers to electronic labels. It keeps our prices up to date in a fast-changing market and gives us more time to focus on personal service.”

From paper to precision

EasyLabel fits perfectly into EasyRack’s evolution over the past few years.

“Until 2020, we mainly focused on shop and warehouse shelving,” explains Niek Haesaerts, founder of EasyRack. “But more and more clients were asking for complete solutions, including digital price tags. Today, they’re becoming essential in DIY, garden and pet sectors.”

With SoluM ESLs, the world’s second-largest electronic label brand, Maes gains a system that grows with them. Automatic price updates, LED guidance for customers and clear product navigation — everything contributes to efficiency and a smoother shopping experience.

Van automatische prijsupdates tot LED-verlichting die klanten naar het juiste product leidt: alles draait om efficiëntie, overzicht en een betere winkelervaring.

Testing the future

The Maes brothers started small and smart.

“We first introduced electronic labels for Kärcher and STIHL,” says Jeroen. “It gave us the chance to test the system, train our staff and fine-tune the process. The feedback was immediately positive.”

Ready for what’s next

Electronic labels are about much more than price automation.

“They also allow us to display the mandatory repairability index,” adds Christof. “That means we’re ready for future legislation. And because EasyLabel uses SoluM technology, we know we’re building on a solid foundation.”

Maes is shaping a retail experience built for tomorrow, powered by technology that works for people.
